In 2012, Alan Alda challenged scientists to answer "What is a flame?" in terms 11-year-olds could understand. Check out the winning video

Since 2012, Mr. Alda has continued the challenge with a new question each year. The question for 2014 was "What is color?" Astronomer Sally Dodson-Robinson submitted the movie linked here.
