Title

Spin pumping experiments in topological insulators and skyrmion crystals

Abstract

Detection and manipulation of electron spin are the key prerequisites for spintronics. Here, we report spin pumping experiments for topological materials: topological insulators [1] and skyrmion crystals [2]. Using bulk-insulating topological-insulator materials Bi1.5Sb0.5Te1.7Se1.3 and Sn-doped , we successfully observed spin-electricity conversion due to the spin-momentum locking on the topological surface state [1]. For skyrmion crystals, we demonstrated the spin current injection from the skyrmion crystal phase of Cu2OSeO3 to an attached Pt film [2]. These results should be important for future spintronics application of topological insulators and skyrmion crystals.
