- At a recent International Physics Olympiad held in Mexico, team of five Serbian high school students has achieved best result in the history of its participation with one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.
- The tenth annual "Marko V. Jaric" prize for outstanding scientific achievement in physics was awarded to professor Vladimir Dobrosavljevic, Department of Physics, Florida State University, Tallahassee.
