- Draft of science and technological development strategy of the Republic of Serbia 2009-2014 published.
- At the recent International Physics Olympiad held in Mexico, team of five Serbian high school students has achieved best result in the history of its participation with one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.
- The tenth annual "Marko V. Jarić" prize for outstanding scientific achievement in physics was awarded to professor Vladimir Dobrosavljević, Florida State University, USA.
