Following in the footsteps of world-renowned Serbian scientists - Nikola Tesla, Mihajlo Pupin, Milutin Milanković, Jovan Karamata, and Marko Jarić - who developed (partly or fully) their research careers abroad while exerting enormous influence on young scientists and educational system in Serbia, the principal goals of Serbian Scientific Diaspora (SSD) are to:
mentor young scientists from Serbia and neighboring countries of the Western Balkans,
offer short courses on frontier research topics by visiting lecturers from SSD,
provide technical expertise in establishing cutting edge laboratories in Serbia,
assist scientists in Serbia in competing for domestic and international research funds.
